AUNTY AND ME.

I have a wonderful aunty.
I met my aunt just then at her office in Tanjong Pagar. Those high-rised buildings with a whole level occupied by just one company and you have glass windows from the ceiling to the floor without any frames or grills within. Those really standard and high-class office suites. Yes, I got into one such office. She actually wanted me to help her with her work. That's just updating the system with the employees' claims on money spent on medical or dental.
So I was there click and punching the keyboard. Click here, select there, copy this (copy as in Ctrl+C, not the thing secondary school students like to do before Morning Assembly, or before Recess, or during class. Anyway, I just said secondary school students. That somehow make me look dissociated from that group of people. Oh well, I am a graduate. Too bad, kids. No more hair-cutting, nail-cutting, detention, national anthem singing, DM-avoiding practices. Okay. I drifted too much. Drifted to Hawaii on a plank. Like how Rose slept on the wood. Right. Back.), paste that (Now here, paste means Ctrl+V. Not paste as in toothpaste, or paste as in use-the-uhu.).
So yeah. These people working in the office sure know how to claim money. Babies' injection, wives' medication, husbands' manicure, mothers' taxi fare, fathers' electrical bill, nephews' petrol claims, nieces' handphone bills, brothers' new handphone, sisters' dental appointment where only polishing is done. Okay, now you need to change the relatives to the employees themselves. But, however, some did claim their immediate families' medical fees. The company need to handle the healthcare of families. How well.
Anyway, I was there on the computer working for less than 2 hours. I figured I did work for 1 hour or even less. Then, my aunt need to use the computer to reply email, print documents, edit details. So, I was free. I walked around the office for 35731 times, touched 359875 things, opened cabinets, cutting paper, playing with stamps and et cetera. Stamps, referred to those 'PRIVATE AND CONFIDENTIAL' and 'RECEIVED ON []' and 'FAX TO []'. So I had fun with rubber and ink.
(-_-)
Anyway, before I got to the office, I had lunch with her. Korean restaurant. The worker there set down those small white bowls with 10grams of food within each. They said its complimentary. I wonder. Anyway, so yes, Korean food. Very expensive. Had a filling meal. And I never know iced canned Green Tea could cost S$1.80. But well, maybe that's for the service from the staff who helped open the can.
And I had dinner with her too. She wanted me to try pasta. The cafe was closed. Italian food next. The bistro was not opened yet. Nonya food. The ladyboss won't appear at the locked door. Sushi. The crab eggs are not harvested yet. Restaurant in Amara Hotel. That's a four-stars hotel. And, I rejected. Who wants to eat leftover buffet.
Anyway, we settled dinner hastily, because its a weekend and no eating house would want to welcome flies when they can earn money like water flowing into the water cistern in the toilet after you flushed.
And, I got $50 for birthday. Furthermore, $10 per hour today. That makes up $50 because she counted 5 hours. I guess she wanted to pay me for sitting in her office, playing with the paper shredder. And $10 for taxi fare, even though we crossed the MRT faregate together. Its $110 with lunch and dinner. For working 1 hour.
Believe me, I am a happy man.
Yes, my aunty is nice. She got me an Xbox console some years ago for Christmas. The blue Deuter I used for school was from her too. And some other thing I gotten. And now, she asked me what I want for Christmas this year. I told her Crumpler. Things looking good. Hope I will have a nice present soon. Haha.
And to those who are working daily at some fast-food restaurant, HAHA.
